Age Group Program
It is expected all Nadador Age Group Swimmers will be competing in USA Swimming competitions regularly. Swimmers in this division are learning to convert fundamental swimming skills into fundamental racing skills. A division wide goal is to swim with enthusiasm and participate in the creation of a fun-filled environment that fosters a passion for the sport.
As with all our competitive age groups divisions, this large group of athletes is broken up into 3 sub groups; Gold, Silver and Bronze.
The Bronze group swimmers know all four strokes and are developing their understanding of basic training concepts. Emphasis of this group is building aerobic endurance, learning to race and continuing to improve on the technical aspects of each stroke and its related skills like starts, turns and finishes. Bronze level swimmers are encouraged to attend at least 60% of practices weekly.
The Silver group swimmers are learning to train at greater distances and intensity levels than the Bronze group. Emphasis of this group is training through sets that require a higher level of difficulty and intensity while maintaining a focus on technique and skill. The ability to make technical changes within challenging sets is required. Silver level swimmers are strongly encouraged to attend at least 80% of practices weekly and commit to all qualified championship competitions. All Silver group swimmers should have a goal to transition to the Gold group.
The Gold group swimmers are elite age group athletes that are preparing to train at the standards necessary to help them transition successfully into the next highest division and beyond. Emphasis of this group is progressing the level of technique, endurance and racing skills for competition at the highest-level meets. Gold swimmers are required to attend at least 90% of practices weekly and commit to all qualified championship competitions.
