Kristine Julian

Coach Kristine brings a depth of experience in swimming that not many can match. Whether it be her years of experience on the US National Team and multiple international competitions as an athlete or her years spent at every level of the sport as a coach, it is that knowledge and experience that she is excited to share with our Nadadores family.

On the coaching side, Kristine has spent time at USC, CLASS, Rose Bowl, and UCLA before joining the Nadadores, with 18 years being building Rose Bowl’s move from 149th in the nation to Junior National champions. During her time in Pasadena, Coach Kristine spent time at every level of the team, including winning multiple American Swimming Coaches Association Age Group Coach of the Year awards in the process. She also spent time leading the National Group to new heights and helped start the run to Rose Bowl being back-to-back Winter Juniors champions.

As an athlete Kristine accomplished incredible things during her 10-year career on the US National Team. During those years Coach Kristine had accomplishments including being named the Swimming World Magazine American Swimmer of the Year in 1997, earning a gold medal in the 1996 Olympics, and breaking an American record in the 200 Breaststroke, just to name a few. On the college side, she was instrumental in leading USC to its’ first and only Women’s swimming NCAA team title, its’ first ever NCAA relay title, 8 individual NCAA titles, was a 23-time All-American, and is now a member of the USC Athletics Hall of Fame.

Coach Kristine is excited to be joining the Nadadores family and looks forward to helping the team move into the future. Married to new pro/post-grad coach, Jeff Julian, and mother of national team athlete, Trenton Julian, it is a special experience to be on deck together as a family and helping build a bright future for the Nadadores.
