Coach Jeff has joined us following 18 years as Head Coach of Rose Bowl Aquatics, where he took the program from 146th in the nation to being a top 25 team and back-to-back Western Junior National Champions and winning USA Swimming’s West Speedo Summer Championships in 2021.

As a swimmer, Jeff spent his entire career based in Southern California, representing Industry Hills Aquatics Club and the University of Southern California. During his time at USC, he was an 8-time All-American, Pac 12 Champion in the 200 Fly and 800 Free Relay and finishing his NCAA career with a 2nd place finish in his specialty event. Racing nationally and internationally, Jeff was a US Open Champion, a member of the USA Swimming National Team, and silver medalist at the World University Games (97).  

As part of his 18+ years at Rose Bowl, his swimmers broke 100’s of team records, earned spots on the USAS National Junior team, and moved on to become NCAA Champions and All-Americans. Jeff also has experience at both the pro level, while working with the ISL team Cali Condors as their head coach and at the college level as an assistant coach at USC. At USC, he worked mainly with the breaststrokers and flyers, who became National Champions in individual and relay events. He also worked closely with Jason Lezak from 2007-2012 and was honored to be selected by Jason for the Ikkos Award at the 2008 Olympics.

On the personal side, Jeff earned his bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from USC and his master’s degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University. He is married to USC Hall of Fame swimmer and award-winning coach, Kristine Quance Julian, and has one son, Trenton Julian, who just finished his collegiate career at the University of California, Berkeley by helping the Bears win the 2nd National Championship during his time there. Trenton was a 10-time All-American and a multiple-time Pac 12 Champion.
